Three Foundations To Try

Foundation is probably one of my favourite parts of makeup – which might seem odd to some, but I’m constantly out looking for the perfect base. I want glow, yet something that keeps the oils at bay. I’m not hard to please at all…

BareMinerals Original Foundation – I harbour a lot of love for mineral foundation. I picked up my first pot in the US and used it almost exclusively for month. When that ran out, I debating ordering another one from Sephora, but couldn’t afford to spend £75 to get the customs included, so finally picked up some BareMinerals. I have to say, I really do like it. Whilst it doesn’t have the same coverage as the Tarte one, I still really enjoy it. It’s light, breathable and perfect for low-key make up.

Bourjois City Radiance – I do like an optional lighter base and in steps City Radiance. It gives a fresh, dewy complexion with very little effort. I’ve found for a light coverage base, it does last a good length of time, not as long as the next one, but I’ve really enjoyed wearing it. It also applies well with both a brush and a beauty blender – but I prefer the latter. Also it’s a tenner, which makes it quite the bargain.

Estee Lauder Double Wear – I know, where have I been? This foundation was cult back when I started blogging and I never got round to trying it. Back when my two best pals were getting married in November, I decided to bite the bullet and pick up a bottle. This, my friends, is one of the best foundations. I can see what people rave about it. It sticks around like nothing else, the shade range is fantastic and I love how it looks when applied with a beauty blender. Dreamy! The only downside is its lack of pump and I feel sometimes its a bit too full coverage for everyday wear. But otherwise a thumbs up from me.

What are your favourite foundations? I’m still on the quest for the perfect one. Will it ever end?
